Public Education

Worn on the patch of every Westlake firefighter is the word “Deditus,” a Latin word meaning dedication. Westlake Firefighters show their dedication by devoting their lives to protect the citizens and the property of the community in which they serve. The Westlake Fire-EMS Department is a very active and integral part of our community. They enjoy assisting with public events in order to allow the community a better opportunity to meet them and get to know their firefighters in a calm environment instead of a tense emergency scene.

The Westlake Fire-EMS Department also offers free CPR classes throughout the year for local businesses and a Summer Safety Course in May for Westlake and surrounding residents. In order to better understand life at the firehouse and the services they provide, residents are invited to visit the station. Listed below are several events that you may see Westlake firefighters in attendance, along with many programs that they offer throughout the year.
