The Town of Westlake strives to place an emphasis on transparency. It is our commitment that the Town of Westlake's financial information is readily accessible and available for our citizens.
The primary purpose and function of the Finance Department is to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the Town of Westlake; Westlake Academy and Westlake Academy Foundation. This is accomplished by monitoring financial processes of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, journal entries, utility billing, capital projects, fixed assets, depreciation; revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities.
Other duties include cash & investment management, financial reporting, coordinating the annual budget and audit processes and providing administrative support to the Finance Director, Assistant Town Manager, and Town Manager.
With the implementation of the Transparency Stars Program by the State Comptroller of Public Accounts, there is an additional standard of excellence that the Town of Westlake will strive to achieve.
