Overview
The town owns and operates Westlake Academy, a prestigious and innovative charter school that offers all three programs of the rigorous International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum - Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, and the Diploma Programme. Westlake Academy continues to earn high ratings from the Texas Education Agency and from many national-ranking organizations such as US News & World Report, Newsweek, and the Washington Post.

Westlake Academy is an IB World School whose mission is to provide students with an internationally-minded education of the highest quality, so they are well-balanced and respectful life-long learners.
Enrollment
All Westlake residents are eligible to enroll at Westlake Academy, which is operated as a Texas public charter school by the town. Over 850 students currently attend the academy in grades K-12th.
Our 2018 class of graduates garnered over $4.7 million in scholarship offers with 100% accepted into college, many into top-tier universities across the globe.
Admission/Residency Policy Information
On June 1, 2015, and again on April 3, 2017, the Westlake Town Council/Board of Trustees found it necessary to make a few changes to the academy admissions policies due to the growth of the Westlake community.
