When: Next Wed., August 22, at 6:00 pm
Where: Council Chambers at Town Hall in Solana
During a lengthy budget work session yesterday afternoon, Town staff presented a draft of the proposed 2018-2019 Town of Westlake Budget and five-year financial forecast and recommended an approximate $0.02 tax increase from $0.13615 to $0.15600. This increase, if effected, would be part of a change in our Town's policies as they relate to the Town's tax rate and its role in the Town's financial sustainability.
The Town Council took no action at yesterday's budget work session with respect to the Staff recommendation, except to request that the Town invite our residents to a Public Input and Information Meeting on Wednesday, August 22, at 6 p.m. in the Town Hall Council Chambers.
During this meeting, the budget, the supporting data, and possible changes to the Town's tax rate will be discussed. NO ACTION REGARDING A TAX INCREASE WILL BE TAKEN AT THIS MEETING. It is for input and information purposes only.
We do hope your schedule allows you to attend this meeting. Engaged and informed citizens are integral to the success of our community. If you are unable to attend, please make a point to review our meeting agenda packets, Westlake Wire email blasts, and our website for additional information.
Should you have specific questions, please do not hesitate to call Tom Brymer, our Town Manager, at 817-490-5720.
