Dear Westlake residents,
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a health alert regarding an outbreak of the Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.
The Town of Westlake wants its residents, corporate partners, visitors, as well as Westlake Academy parents, faculty, and students to know that our staff is communicating closely with Tarrant County Public Health and the Texas Department of State Health Services to monitor and stay current on this evolving situation. Communication notices, similar to this one, have also been sent to the school community at Westlake Academy, updating them on the latest with the virus.
In the meantime, we urge you to visit the CDC’s website for further information. It’s an excellent resource for the most recent news surrounding COVID-19, how it’s spread, symptoms, as well as helpful tips on prevention. You can also visit their “Share Facts, Not Fear” page so that you can inform yourself and others with the facts about COVID-19.
While the risk for all Texans remains low, rest assured, we are taking this issue very seriously. Town staff will continue to stay on top of the ever-changing situation, provide updated information, and make decisions quickly with the health and safety of our community as our primary focus.
Respectfully,
Amanda DeGan
Westlake Town Manager
