Hi, my name is Dianna and I’m the Utility and Facility Coordinator for the Town of Westlake. I’m the one who sets up your utility account when you move to Westlake. I also answer your water bill questions and trash pickup requests. I take work order requests in case our field technicians need to fix anything around town. Internally, I help the Public Works and Facilities staff stay on track with work orders and invoices. I also manage the water quality reporting to county, state, and federal agencies. Our Public Works field technicians do the testing and I make sure the results are reported. There’s a lot of checking in when it comes to our water quality. I love our beautiful town, so if you see something making it less than beautiful, you can call me! Trash in the road, missing or damaged signs, potholes, unruly turtles…. All issues we’ve taken care of before.
My top 3 most frequent resident conversations:
- Why is my water bill so high? Your bill is made up of a base service charge and a consumption charge. Your base service charge is determined by your meter size. If you would like to monitor your consumption, you can sign up for Eye on Water. It’s the same program that records your meter reads for billing and you can use it to see how much water you’re using. Irrigation in the summer months is usually the culprit of high water bills.
- I wish Westlake had auto-draft: We do! You can sign up for automatic bank or credit card draft through our website. Just go to Westlake-tx.org and click on the “I Want To” tab on the main page. Choose “Pay My Utility Bill” and you will be directed to the page with instructions on how to sign up. You have to change your password as soon as you log in or the system will not show you the option for the automatic drafts. If you get stuck during the process, just call me!
- My trash cart is broken, who do I call to get it fixed? Me! Any trash complaints or requests like new lids or additional carts should go through me. Republic has its own customer service number, but we like to know what’s going on with our trash service. As soon as you call or email me, I get in touch with Republic’s customer service, dispatch service, and Westlake route supervisor. I also keep track of everything (I love spreadsheets), so we can identify any problem areas. You might also notice some Town of Westlake trucks driving around on Friday afternoons.
If you have questions, you can always call or email me. If you don’t want to do any of that, you can always check in with our website! We are updating it all the time and there is a lot of information there.
There are a lot of privileges to working in such a small town and one of my favorites is that when I talk to residents, they’re more than just an account number to me. If there’s a problem, we will look at it together. If there’s not a problem and you just want to talk about how great Westlake is, I am also available for that conversation.
