Here are some of the most frequently asked questions I get from residents.
Regulations for temporary signs:
- Garage/Rummage/Estate Sales signs do not require a permit.
- One garage sale, rummage sale, or estate sale sign is allowed
- May not exceed 3 square feet
- Lettering may not exceed 3 inches in height
- May be displayed on the site during the hours of the sale
- Political Signs do not require a permit.
- May only be placed on the property
- May not exceed 4 square feet
- May not be placed in the public roadway or easement adjacent to such roadway
- May not be placed in any location which would cause a traffic hazard by obscuring or in any manner blocking the vision of any driver of a vehicle using the public street or entering any such street
- Must be removed 30 days after the election including any run-off election
Regulations and documentation required for building a fence/retaining wall and permit fee calculations:
- Fence/Retaining Wall does require a permit and you must provide:
- Site plan that shows the location and scope of work
- Dimension, height, and type of material
- Retaining Walls over 4 feet require plans to be stamped by a professional engineer
- HOA approval (an official letter is required)
- The permit fee is calculated at ($1.00 per Declared Valuation) x 1%
