On Thursday, June 22, your Town Council and Town staff took part in a work session to discuss the 2023-2024 budget. They heard from our Finance Department as well as all the Department Heads who outlined the proposed budget from revenues and expenditures. Here’s a recap of what was discussed:
• Council heard an overview of the base budget
• Discussed funding requests for each department
• Provided staff with future improvements/changes
• Incorporate feedback from the meeting
• Work with Department Directors to finalize line item details
• Receive certified values 7-25 and calculate the tax rate
• Compose the proposed budget to be discussed in the 7-31 work session
• Incorporate any changes
• Vote on the maximum tax rate on 8-7
• Public Hearings for budget and tax rate on 9-11
• Consider adoption of budget and tax rate on 9-11
