Town Council Recap (8-19-2024)

If you missed the Town Council/Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, August 19th, here is everything you need to know:
*Council heard an update on the 2024-2025 budget which included $28 million in all revenues, $24.5 million in expenditures, and $5.1 million interfund transfers as well as a flat tax rate of $0.16788. An addition of 5.25 full-time employees were also included and staff compensation adjustments
*Presentation concerning the 2024 Westlake Academy student performance on the IB and AP assessments, including how WA achieved Platinum Status for the first time in school history. Only 6% of schools across the nation achieve this honor
*Council adopted Amendments to the Development Plan, specifically Westlake Entrada Blocks B, K, L (Lots 1 and 2), P, Q, and Westlake/Southlake Park Addition No.1 Block 1, Lot 2R1. The properties are generally located east of Davis Blvd., south of State Highway 114, and north of Solana Boulevard, with provisions.  Block K will be reduced from 150 residential units to 73 single-family attached condos, Plaza Mayor configuration subject to future changes, Block P will be a maximum of 32 residential units
*Council passed ordinance for a 2024 Amended and Restated Service and Assessment Plan and Assessment Roll for the Solana Public Improvement District; Making a Finding of Special Benefit to the Property in the District; Levying Special Assessments Against Property within the District and Establishing a Lien on such Property; Invalidating and Vacating a Portion of the Existing Assessments and Directing the Transfer of Amounts previously collected to Redeem Outstanding Bonds; providing for the method of assessment and the payment of the assessments in accordance with Chapter 372, Texas Local Government Code, as amended; providing penalties and interest on delinquent assessments; providing for severability; and providing an effective date.
*Council continued the ordinances regulating PD7 zoning district at Westlake Ranch for a three-acre portion of land platted as Aspen Estates until the September 16th meeting
*Council approved Resolution 24-55 for a Replat for Lots 13R-1A and 13R-1B, Block I of the Vaquero Phase 1 Residential Addition. The property is generally located west of Post Oak Place, east of Hawthorn Way and south of Vaquero Club Lane
