JANUARY 7TH - Winter weather is coming to Westlake, bringing dangerously cold temperatures and the high potential for a wintry mix that could include 4-6 inches of snow. Here's a look at what we can expect in the next few days here in North Texas.
Wednesday night: Some snow flurries will be possible. It'll be very light and unlikely to accumulate.
Thursday morning: Snow showers possible. Light accumulations will begin.
Thursday afternoon: Snow showers continue. Snowfall may be heavy at times. Accumulations continue.
Thursday night: Snow showers continue but becoming lighter toward Friday morning.
Friday: Snow ends from west to east in the morning. Friday evening and night look dry.
Town staff has already begun holding periodic meetings to discuss our plans for keeping the roads safe. Here's where we stand right now:
- Keller Police will update us on road conditions each morning at 5 am.
- Sand spreaders have been installed on our Public Works trucks and are ready to roll when needed.
- TxDOT has already started to pre-treat highways.
- In the event more sand/equipment is needed, the Town will partner with contractors to fulfill our needs.
- The Town will coordinate with Westlake's HOAs to ensure safe access into and out of our neighborhoods.
