We wanted to provide an update regarding the winter weather's impact on the trash and recycling collection. Last week, services were pushed from Friday to Saturday due to the icy road conditions. However, Republic Services, Westlake's provider for pickup, was only able to collect garbage on Saturday, not recycling.
Because of that, recycling wasn't picked up over the weekend. However, their normal schedule will resume this week which means both your garbage and recycling bins will be emptied this Friday as usual. We apologize for any confusion. They did their best to get as much of the area covered as possible, but the slick roads made that extremely difficult. We can't thank them enough for all their hard work. Driving those big trucks on icy streets isn't ideal, so kudos to them for getting as much collected as they did.
Also, we wanted to say a special thank you to our Public Works crew, our Fire-EMS team, and the Keller Police for all their hard work during the winter storm. Sleepless nights and tireless schedules were the norm the last few days, all in the name of keeping everyone in Westlake safe.
We are very lucky to have each of these departments looking after us. In the meantime, enjoy the warmer temperatures this week, and have a great Monday!
