A Message from Mayor Kim Greaves
Dear Westlake Community,
Today, we continue to mourn the passing of one of our beloved Westlake Academy students, Alexander “Xander” Chung. On behalf of the entire Westlake Academy staff, the Board of Trustees, and the entire Town of Westlake, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Xander’s family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
In honor of Xander’s life and the impact he made on our community, we will hold a special candlelight vigil on Tuesday, May 27th, at 8:00 PM. The vigil will take place at 1500 Solana Boulevard, behind Building 4 in Westlake.
This is a time for all of Westlake to come together as a school, as families, and as a community to support one another and honor Xander’s memory. The strength of our community lies in our compassion and unity, especially during times of sorrow. We encourage all who are able to attend to stand with us in remembrance and solidarity.
In the meantime, we encourage you to view Xander’s obituary to learn more about him and the many things he was passionate about. Also, the link will take you to where you can send flowers to the family and share a memory of your own.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Mayor Kim Greaves
Town of Westlake
