WESTLAKE, TX - There’s lots of growth and celebration behind the scenes at the Town of Westlake and Westlake Academy. On Tuesday, the Department of Information Technology (IT) announced the promotion of Ray Workman to Deputy Director to enhance the Academy’s IT presence and services.
Ray has served Westlake for over 13 years helping Town and Academy staff and students meet the latest technology, security, and network needs. His recent achievements include assisting with installing upgraded security systems at the Academy and network infrastructure upgrades across the entire organization. In this new role, Ray will be based primarily at the Academy campus to enhance IT's presence, streamline support, and ensure the school's technology needs are met efficiently. Ray will work alongside IT Coordinator, Mitch Wells, to provide proactive support to students, teachers, and staff while reinforcing the security and efficiency of our systems. This reorganization reflects the growing importance of technology in education and municipal operations.
“Ray will continue working closely with me to oversee IT operations across all departments, and his leadership and deep knowledge of our operations will ensure that changes and improvements align with the needs of the Academy, the Town, Public Works, and the Fire Department,” Director of IT, Jason Power said.
In addition, the department is seeking a supporting IT Technician at the Westlake Academy campus who possesses strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn within the field. Interested candidates can find more information here.
