7:30 AM SUNDAY UPDATE: Road conditions got significantly worse overnight. Here’s a breakdown of all the issues we’re facing on and around Westlake’s roadways:
• Westbound flyover from 114 to 170 is shutdown.
• All bridges and overpasses on 114, 170 and 377 are ice-covered and significantly more hazardous than surrounding roadway surfaces.
• All roadways are snow and ice-covered with intermittent slick spots. Reduced visibility, limited traction and increased stopping conditions are observed.
While our Public Works team is working around the clock to keep you safe, the ice is simply too widespread to keep up with all the roads, so the best advice is to stay home if at all possible.
With temperatures well below freezing, this ice and snow will not be melting anytime soon.
