If you missed the Town Council/Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, February 3, here is everything you need to know:
- Council saw a presentation about the Westlake Academy leaders in the field and the IB partnership with local schools
- Council approved a development agreement between the Town and Otter Partners for subdivision improvements for Westlake Ventanas
- Council approved the participation of the Town in the Texas Enterprise Zone Program and nominated Charles Schwab & Co. to the Governor's Office for Economic Development and Tourism as a Triple Jumbo Enterprise Project through the Economic Development Bank. The nomination increases employment opportunities for the Town and surrounding communities as well as the demand for restaurant, retail, service, and other commercial activities
- Council approved the purchase of a new fire engine not to exceed $1.3 million
- The Westlake Academic Calendar for 2025-2026 was adopted, including keeping the late starts on Wednesdays
- Discussion regarding Westlake Academy to add one additional 4th grade class and a Pre-K class for the 2025-2026 school year was tabled until the next Town Council meeting
